About Me
Background
I was born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina; I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina, with three degrees (English: Professional Writing, French and Francophone Studies, and Political Science); and I currently reside in Wilmington, North Carolina. When I'm not proofreading, I enjoy spending time with my two dogs, reading a good book, knitting, painting, and relaxing on the beach.
Education and Experience
I am a graduate of Transcript Proofreading: Theory and Practice, a course based on Morson's English Guide for Court Reporters. During this course, I annotated over 3,000 court transcript pages while using other references such as Margie Wakeman Wells' Bad Grammar/Good Punctuation and The Gregg Reference Manual. I look to all three of these references and combine them with court reporters' preferences to provide my clients with a clean, well-organized, and "turn-in ready" document.
As someone with a keen eye for mistakes (and someone who finds them everywhere I look), I understand the importance of a document free from errors, which is why I am committed to providing my court reporters with professional, prompt, and precise service!
